Students from Interior Design, Hospitality Management, and Travel and Tourism visited the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in Dubai on 8 and 9 December. The purpose of the visit for Interior Design students was to analyze the architecture and decorations that were done at the hotel. The hospitality and Travel and Tourism students looked at the business operations of the hotel. The tour guide took the students to every part of the hotel, including rooms, the business lounge, lunch area, meeting rooms, event halls, and dining areas. Everything was explained in detail as to how the architect had designed the walls, floors, tables, chairs and paintings along with how every design was related to lifestyles in the UAE. For instance, the use of gold on the floor and paintings of desert scenes were remarkable. On the other hand, students even learned on how hotel operations are managed. Two different aspects of the same hotel were explored by the students and they enjoyed every bit of the tour.
