Seminar conducted on Total Quality Management by Alumna
Miss Asma is a student who recently enrolled in the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programe at Preston, Ajman. Her specialization area is Human Resource Management. She is currently serving as a Quality Improvement Manager at the Al Qassimi Hospital where she has worked for the past 13 years. She is quiet experienced in her field. In fact, it was our pleasure to invite her back to the University of studies as a guest lecturer for MBA specializations in General Management and Human Resource Management. She prepared a full presentation on Total Quality Management delivering different ways to improve quality within organizations. She also discussed the different barriers in effective quality management, the components of strategic planning, the concepts and different key issues and terminology related to Total Quality Management. When we asked Asma about her experience in going from a student to a guest lecturer
She said: “It was a very good experience that occurred at Preston, Ajman as a guest lecturer and not a student having to sit and listen. I’m sure the students who were present have benefited a lot as quality management is an important aspect in any organization you work with. Discussing different key issues and the barriers that exist, I am glad and I hope that I have made a difference in their coming life ahead. I thank everyone who supported me.”
Security Training Program conducted by Alumna
A security-training program was conducted for the security guards at Preston University, Ajman. The guards learned techniques for effectiveness and efficiency required in maintaining high security levels in the organization. This event was organized by Dr. Sharon, the Research Coordinator at Preston University. She is an active faculty member who saw the need for this kind of training at Preston, Ajman. Syed Rahat Ali, a Gold Medalist graduate of Preston University who completed his MBA in HRM, conducted the event. He is a former squadron leader in the royal Pakistan air force and currently works in Dubai as General Manager of Rectangle Asia LLC. It was a three-day training session with a short test at the end of each session. This was done to determine how much students able to grasp at the end of each day. According to him, the program was very useful, as the people who participated did not have any basic security background. Three students who completed the program received certificates for excellent performance from Mr. Sajjad Hussain, Director General. They were: Abul Salam, Saiful Islam and Sultan Zareen.
